Gained approval for the use of an existing lagoon as up-front treatment, designed a pump station and mass drainfield to eliminate the discharge to the Blackwater River, a tributary to Smith Mountain Lake.
Jordantown Wesleyan Church ( Bedford County)
Designed a wastewater system for a proposed church which included a discharge to a stream and custom designed components to treat the erratic flow scenario.

Modified the exixting system to accomodate a corporate office expansion. Involved relocation of a pump station, installation of a package treatment system, addition of drainfield lines.
Pine Grove Park ( Mecklenburg County)
Designed a package wastewater system, pump station, gravity and force mains to eliminate a leaking lagoon and regain compliance. Work included preliminary engineering report and O&M Manual.
Catawba Hospital, Department of Mental Health, Mental Retardation and Substance Abuse Services ( Roanoke, County)
Designed a new well and associated piping system for additional water supply to hospital. Designed a replacement for a mile of wastewater pipeline conveying wastewater to the facility's treatment works.
Virginia Department of Corrections ( Honaker, Virginia)
Water treatment improvements including a water softner to correct water quality issues at the facility.
Splashdam Baptist Church ( Dickenson County)
Designed a unique wastewater system consisting of a multi pass re-circulating granular media filter, post aeration, chlorination, and de-chlorination with final discharge to the Russell River. Gained approval for the use of pea coke , a by product of burnt coal as media thereby creating a re-use of the product. The system produced a very high quality effluent.
Windy Gap Elementary School ( Franklin County)
Designed a 4,000 gpd. package system for a proposed elementary school and procured the V.P.D.E.S.discharge permit.
Private Residence ( Rockbridge County)
Designed a residential wastewater system to serve a single family home. System utilized drip irrigation in a forested area at approximately 6" bury depth which allowed uptake of water and nitrogen by the trees.
Woodhaven Nursing Home ( Bedford County)
Designed a drinking water system and advised owner with regard to wastewater treatment. Installed an advanced wastewater system as a pilot demonstration. Approval of system was granted in September 2004.
With ACS Design my projects include:
Cedar Rock Central Sewer System: (Forest, Virginia)
A 15,000 gallon per day discharging system serving a new subdivision. Task included procurement of the VPDES discharge permit, development of the Preliminary Engineering Report, the system design, EcoOptions is the contracted operator of the system. The system has been running for over one year with excellent test results.
Mariners Landing Central Sewer System, Bedford County (Phase II)

Moneta Regional WWTP (Bedford County)
I Developed with Dan Early, P.E. at ACS Design, the design of a 1.5 million gallon per day advanced secondary wastewater treatment system discharging into a stream, the preliminary engineering report , the VPDES applicaion, project specifications and equipment selection, designed the laboratory facility and specified the necessary laboratory equipment. The system will provide public sewer for 3,200 acres of property with many developments both existing and proposed. The system will employ state of the art equipment and methods. EcoOptions provided start up services for this system once it was constructed.
